all the time….God is good! Robbie arrived safely in Iraq and has begun his job. He sounds really good, which isn’t surprising. It amazes me how well he handles these situations. I do my best to be strong, but in moments of weakness he is always, always a rock. Before he left, when I would start talking about him being gone or how much I hated to see him go, he would always reply with something optimistic like, “Oh Mateya it won’t be that long, you will be so busy the time will just fly by!”
When he called me the first day he said, “You know what Mateya, some of us guys counted it out today and it’s really not that long. You have Christmas and New Years coming up and the month of January always flies by, February is a short month, March is your birthday, and then I will be home!” I don’t know how he does it, but I am so thankful for little things like that! We have so much to look forward to once he is home, I am just praying the time really does go by quickly and he remains safe.
Although Robbie is always so “tough,” I know there are times when he misses home and it gets hard for him to be away. I gave him this Bible verse before he left and told him to read it anytime he was struggling….
“And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 1 Corinthiance 12:9
We are all weak at times, but those are the times we need to turn to Him, because He is STRONG!
