*How big is baby?: Baby weighs over 7 lbs and is about 20 inches long. Baby is the size of a watermelon. Sounds about right!
I did ask Dr. C this week to guess the weight and she said between 7 and 7.5 pounds although she said she was surprised with how big Hayden was (8.2 lbs) when she had estimated around 7.5 lbs for him. She said I hide it well so she wouldn’t be surprised if this baby is over 8 lbs too, but most likely it isn’t a 9 pounder (thank goodness!)
*Sleep?: Sleep has been a little more restless this week. I’ve been having crazy dreams and have been waking up quite a bit to re-adjust and go to the bathroom.
*Best moment this week?: Great report at my Dr. appt. All looks good with baby and now we sit back and wait 🙂
*Food cravings?: Nothing in particular.
*What I miss: Being able to bend over and move around easily. Not getting tired/winded so easily. My regular clothes.
*What I’m looking forward to: Enjoying the 4th of July weekend with my boys!
I have definitely inherited the pregnancy waddle as of this week. I’m also having some nagging lower back pain but am looking forward to my weekly chiropractor appointment. I always feel so good after those!
At my 39 week appt. Dr. C said everything is still looking great although I had no change from last week. Still only 1cm and my cervix has a “ways to go” as she said. I didn’t ask for more details because honestly I didn’t want to be discouraged as I know this can all change so quickly. She did say she doesn’t think I will have a problem making it through the weekend for her to get back before I deliver. I am definitely ok with this. I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend with family and I’ll be ready for baby next week! 🙂
She said that we could talk about an induction next week if I wanted to but she doesn’t think that’s going to be necessary, which is reassuring. As long as I continue to feel good, I’d like to avoid that as long as possible. Especially beings I went into labor on my own with Hayden. I know my body knows how to do it, so I’m trusting that it will.
The picture on the left was taken on Tuesday and the picture on the right was Wednesday. I definitely think the baby has dropped!
The last days/week (s) of pregnancy are such a mind game. Every day it’s a question of “will today be the day?!” and every little “off” feeling or twinge makes you wonder if labor is coming shortly. You could seriously drive yourself crazy worrying and thinking about it all. One minute I’m totally content with the baby staying put and the next I’m wondering if this pain or that pain means contractions are starting. Kind of funny really. Every morning I come to work someone makes a comment like, “Oh you ARE here!” Every day is a mystery 🙂
