My hometown has a huge Labor Day Celebration every year. Parade, dances, carnival, festival in the park with music, food, vendors, etc. All kinds of fun things to do!
Growing up, this was something we looked forward to year after year and it was so fun to have Hayden enjoy it this year. Last year he was too little for any of it, but this year we took advantage of it all!
We started the weekend off with the annual fun run. It was a 6 mile run and Mikaela and I both set PRs!
It was SUPER hot and we were drenched when it was over. Praying that our half this Sunday is a little cooler!
We went straight to the Kiddie parade where Hayden made his debut.
We whipped up a little Mardi Gras float with his wagon. The theme this year was “Party Times.”
Nothing says party like Mardi Gras right?
He rode so well in the wagon but I don’t think he cracked a smile once. He was all business.
Aunt Mikaela and Uncle Chase
Four Generations with Great Grandma Velda and Grandma Vicky
We also took Hayden on his first carnival rides.
The carousel was a hit! It was just so hot we didn’t last long.
Holding on for dear life haha!
Mikaela also rode on the little whales with him. She was such a trooper. I used to LOVE carnival rides but just looking at those almost made me sick now! It looks like she was having more fun than Hayden 🙂
When we got back to the car we lifted the stroller shade and found him like this. Too funny!
That night there a bunch of people from my high school class met up at the Dueling Pianos show and we had entirely way too much fun. I felt the repercussions big time, the next day.
It’s always fun getting together with people you haven’t seen in awhile! We don’t do it enough!
Janelle even got on stage, big surprise there 😉
Sunday and Monday, Mikaela and I did an Advocare booth at the festival in the park. It was a busy weekend but we were so happy with the response we got.
It was a great weekend, but I think I need a day or two to recover. I can’t hang like I used to!
