*a little delayed*
Oh goodness 12 months have come and gone! My itty bitty baby is now a growing BOY!
Hayden you are ONE! How this happened, I’m not sure, but I will say that I have honestly loved every stage more than the next. You seriously crack me up on a daily basis and your smile makes every day brighter.
We had your 12 month well check and you were perfectly healthy, which we are so grateful for!
Weight: 21 lbs 3 oz.
You got 3 shots and cried for a minute before you were back to your happy self. I am so happy that you’ve handled all of your shots so well, it makes it so much easier on mommy! I hate to see you in pain.
You are wearing size 4 diapers (still Pampers Swaddlers, thank goodness they started making these!) and 12-18 month clothes. We also finally found some shoes that will stay on your feet! Thank goodness for Pediped! You have tiny feet. You’re wearing size 2 and 3 shoes or 6-12 month in Pediped.
Your hair is still really growing and your daddy even noticed a rat tail in the bathtub the other night. We’re going to have to get your first cut soon. For some reason this makes me really sad. I don’t want to see those little curls go.
You actually tolerate the grass now which is great news and you continue to love being outside. You typically throw a major fit (like arched back and all) when we have to go inside.
You officially have 4 teeth now! The top two took forever to come in but they finally pushed through.
You are getting more and more brave with letting go of things and standing on your own. You still haven’t taken any steps but I know it’s not far away. You CRUISE around the furniture and LOVE pushing your puppy toy and tractor outside.
You have an adventurous spirit and I can already tell that you are fearless. One of your favorite things to do is to climb on top of your chair and dive face first off of it into pillows on the floor. your going to give your mama a heart attack before you are even 2 years old!
You still eat any and everything we put in front of you. The only things we’ve found you don’t really care for are eggs and watermelon.
You are constantly babbling and say “mama,” “dada,” “quack quack,” “tractor,” “no,” and “nigh night.”
You also wave hi and bye 🙂 And you do the hand to mouth thing to make noise, as well as blowing bubbles.
At 11 months we switched you to whole milk because we ran out of mama’s milk. I’m so proud to say that you NEVER had formula (not that there is anything wrong with it) but my goal was to get you to one year and we were so close we figured why do formula for just a couple of weeks. We mixed the whole milk with breastmilk for a couple days and you transitioned seamlessly!
You also gave up the bottle right after you turned 11 months! After we finally found a sippy cup you would take milk from there was no turning back. You did great during the day with the cup so we decided to try the cup at bedtime too and you did fine. I wasn’t sad to see those go 🙂
Still sleeping 8pm- whenever we wake you. So so thankful for the wonderful sleeper you are!
Now, you’ll even play a little game where you’ll grab your blankie and if we say “Let’s go night night." You will lay down on the floor and cover your face with the blankie and say nigh nigh but then you’ll look over to make sure we are watching you. Too funny.
Oh my little blue eyed boy, what did I ever do without you? I love you to the moon and back and then some.
This has been the best year and I can’t wait to see what the next brings!
