Here are a few things that I feel are essential for successful breastfeeding and/or pumping!
I’ve tried them all, these are the best!
Keep a back-up handy!
These screw in to the Medela pumps and cost less than a dollar! I use these when I pump, although Hayden drinks out of the Dr. Brown’s bottles.
These are from Target and are the best! So easy and comfy! Great for layering.
**the best pump you can get that isn’t “Hospital grade”* This thing is hands-free, you don’t have to be hooked to your bag…it’s awesome!**
I have pumped in the car, in the bathroom, doing my make-up, eating breakfast, DRIVING (oops!), etc.
It comes with a cooler, bottles, (and my personal favorite) SOFT FIT breast shields. I’ve seen other pumps and had to actually use the regular shields recently and trust me, there is a difference. Probably why they cost $45 more than the regular ones.
It’s so important to drink water while nursing, plus I am ALWAYS thirsty!
These are awesome for pumping at work or on the go! You can sanitize the pump parts without having to be near water! These are expensive though, so I cut them in half (they’re huge)!
I’ve tried them all, these are the softest and slimmest!
This is great for drying all the bottles and pump parts you’ll have to wash. Plus it’s cute 🙂
Yes, you’ll need to sleep in a bra and these are comfy and easy access!
Obviously I am no expert but these are the things that have really helped me get through the last 8 months of breastfeeding and pumping! My biggest advice to you is SPLURGE on a good pump. Especially if you are going back to work or going to exclusively pump, it’s worth the extra money!
