We officially made the big move. Hayden is now in his nursery upstairs and no longer in our bedroom.
It’s been an entire week so I would say it’s officially a success. 🙂
I was definitely the mom that said I wanted him to go to his nursery right away, but deep down I knew that I wouldn’t have the heart to do it.
The problem is that his nursery is upstairs and our bedroom is on the main level and the upstairs of our house is so big and lonely. Prior to Hayden’s room we didn’t have anything up there. It was basically just a dumping ground for all of our junk.
I really think if we had another bedroom on our main level and his room could have been close to ours that we would have moved him to his own room MUCH sooner. But who knows.
Robbie actually struggled with the idea of Hayden moving upstairs more than I did. After 6 months I was ready. I just felt that we would all sleep better if he could be in his own room so one night Robbie came home and I just told him I had Hayden’s room all ready and we were going to give it a try. If it was a bad night he could come back down to our room. Thankfully it was a success.
I actually really enjoy taking him upstairs and rocking him in his room, no distractions, just me and my boy.
Thank God for video monitors! That first night I was constantly looking at him sleeping. I just love having the peace of mind. I can quick check on him if I hear him in the middle of the night and not have to go all the way up there.
This move is just another indication that my baby is growing up entirely too fast!
I’d say he likes his new room 🙂
The first morning after sleeping in his crib for the first time!
