It’s been awhile since I have posted a recipe on the blog! Usually I am just in such a rush once I get home to get supper going, I forget to take pictures before it’s all gone!
A couple weeks ago I made this and Robbie loved it so I tried it again last night and remembered to take pictures too!
I have no idea what it is even called because I truly just made it up, so we’ll just go with this:
Yummy Sausage Stromboli
Spicy sausage (we used a breakfast blend)
Reduced Fat crescent rolls
8 oz. 1/3 fat cream cheese
shredded cheese (I used colby jack)
*Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
*Brown the sausage just like you would brown hamburger. Drain.
*Return meat back to pan and mix in onion and green pepper
(I used a whole green pepper and half an onion).
*Let that mix cook for a couple minutes, then add the brick of cream cheese. Stir until melted.
Should look something like this.
Next take the crescent rolls
and roll out onto a greased cookie sheet.
I separated the dough in half and then pinched the seams together. So you should have two separate pieces of dough.
Next, spoon the meat mixture onto the dough and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Roll the dough up and pinch all sides closed.
They should look like this.
Pop them into the oven for 15-18 minutes or until they are golden brown.
The finished product!
These things were huge and very filling. Robbie and I actually shared one!
This is a very quick and easy recipe!
Plus the ingredients are usually things most of us always have on hand!
I also made this sweet treat to bring to work. I haven’t tried it yet but my co-workers said it’s yummy!
