The St. Lucian people have a motto they live by…
“No pressure. No problem.”
We heard that sooo many times during our stay on the island. It’s a great motto and we definitely felt no pressure 🙂 We were nice and relaxed the whole time we were there.
To say our trip was great is an understatement. We had such a wonderful time…we did NOT want to come home. We missed Redick, but other than that we didn’t think of home too much, except to say, “I can’t believe people are working right now and we are just enjoying the sun and drinking dirty bananas.”
No pressure. No problem. Right?
The adventure started out with the Rascal Flatts concert on Friday night. I will say that the concert was ok. Definitely not the best I have ever been to. They sounded great but it was just kind of boring.
See…Robbie looks bored hah!
We made it to Miami! The first leg of our trip…the next morning we woke up to fly to St. Lucia! We were almost too excited to sleep!!!!
We made it…and it was HOT! The humidity hit us like a ton of bricks…I LOVED it, it took a little bit for Robbie to get used to it.
Here’s Robbie waiting with our luggage to get in the van that would drive us the 1.5 hours to our resort. It was a long trip but it was fun. The drivers are C.R.A.Z.Y!!!!! They would pass on steep curvy hills and just honk their horn hoping that if a car was coming around the curve they would just move out of the way. We were holding on tight!!!
Beautiful homes on the way to the resort.
Our first tatse of St. Lucian beer, Piton. Our driver stopped at bar on the side of the road to get us beer for the long drive.
The lobby at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. It was an open air lobby with no doors or windows…so cool!
People in the lobby
We made it to our room! Stocked with champagne and flower petals 🙂
Wooohoo!!! We’re here!!!
Now let’s go explore…
Time to head to the beach!
Looks like it is straight out of a magazine!
The resort was so beautiful!
We spent a lot of time here. They made great drinks and I’m pretty sure we tried all of them haha!
Looking at the pool.
Ah I could get used to this 🙂 Give me that sun!
Yes that is me. In a giant raft in the middle of the ocean. Robbie and I spent a lot of time in that thing. He went back to the bar to refill our drinks and decided it was a good idea to take a picture of me in the thing. It looks pretty ridiculous but it was way fun!
Loving the sun!
Time for food.
Oh man did we eat on this trip. Wow!
View from the beach restaurant.
One night they had a beach barbecue with amazing food and great entertainment. These were traditional St. Lucian dancers. Later they came out twirling batons that were on fire. Very cool.
Cliche, but you have to do it, right?
Waiting for the van to pick us up for ziplining!!!
Robbie didn’t want to go at all. He is really afraid of heights, but he knew I wanted to go really bad so he surprised me and set it up for us to go! The funny thing is, I think he enjoyed it more than me!
Gorgeous view on the way.
Robbie all strapped in and ready to go!
I’m ready too…let’s go!
There goes Rob!
There I go!
We’re loving it! It was such an awesome experience! We were 250 feet above the ground flying through the rain forest. Experience of a lifetime!
I’ll be back tomorrow with a recap of the rest of the trip….
