Today the topic for Aly and Molly’s Christmas Blogging Challenege is:
Black Friday/General Shopping Tips
Well to be completely honest I have never been shopping on Black Friday! Last year my dad had surgery on the day after Thanksgiving, so while we were waiting for him to wake up from his anesthesia my mom and I hit up Target, but by that time of the day all the crazies were gone!
If you know me in real life (or even if you’ve been following my blog for awhile) you should know how big of a shopper I am. Now that I’ve moved out of the city the shopping has subsided a bit, but I suppose that is a good thing 🙂
So for how much I love to shop, it is pretty surprising that I’ve never done the whole Black Friday thing, but it just never really appealed to me. I mean, people getting trampled to death….nothankyou!
I am not really a big bargain shopper. I hate fighting through people and I HATE digging through piles of clothes. I rarely shop on the sale rack because I just hate sifting through all the junk!
So for me, if I want something, I will buy it. I don’t think it’s worth it to wait in the freezing weather, in a long line, at 4AM, and fighting people, just to save me $30. I would rather take my time, enjoy the decorations, music, and people watching.
Robbie’s family always does the whole Black Friday thing, so I may have to join in this year, even if it is just to see all of the crazy people!
Good luck to you all who are venturing out into the madness 🙂

P.S. It was REALLY cold (22 degrees) and icy here yesterday. Today on my commute to work the temperature was 2 degrees! Anyway, yesterday this is what I saw on my way home….
Brrrr! I was glad to be in my car!
And for the record, NO, we don’t all ride around with a horse and buggy! There are a few Amish families that moved into the area recently from Wisconsin and that is their form of transportation.
