I had the interview yesterday morning and I just had a feeling that things were going well. And I could just feel that this was a good fit for me.
After the interview I met with the Director one last time and we discussed a timeline. She had hoped to give me an answer by next week sometime and I think my face told a story she wanted to know more about. She asked me if next week was going to be okay and I just had word vomit. I told her the whole story and that the other job wanted to know by today. She laughed and said, “Okay…well you will know in the morning.”
I couldn’t believe she was so willing to accommodate my needs, but she was, and I was very thankful.
Last night about 5:30 I was checking out at the grocery store and I got phone call from a number I didn’t recognize. At that point I just KNEW it was her and of course I was in the middle of checking out so I quick answered and I asked her if I could call her right back (real professional huh?) Oh well, she thought it was funny.
So I called her back and she told me, “If you want to tell the other place no, we would love to have you!” I said, “Are you serious?! That is the greatest news!” I was so happy! She said she normally would have waited until the morning to call but she wanted to give me as much time to get things together and to take care of what I needed to with the other job offer. I am so excited, I just can’t believe it all fell into place.
I will be joining the Admissions staff at a private Christian liberal arts University, much like my Alma Mater. Basically I will be recruiting students to come to our University. The commute is right around 40 minutes so I think it will be a great time to gear up for the day and to wind down at the end of the day.
It is a great place and I am really excited to start! I am so grateful for this opportunity and to finally start my career and not just a job. The best part is…my life with Robbie is finally going to start. We will finally be together…no more only seeing each other on the weekends!
God is so faithful you guys. I mean, I prayed so hard about this and Robbie prayed, and you guys prayed (thanks!), and our friends and family prayed and He heard them all. It’s so amazing to see how He had His hand in all of this the whole time.
Sometimes it is just so hard to be patient and to let God do His thing, but this experience has proved to me that God’s timing is ALWAYS perfect.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and positive thoughts…they definitely worked!
