You guys….this week has been CRAZY! I headed back to work on Wednesday. I fear what is to come next week when the boys go back to daycare and the following week when Hayden starts school. It’s just been a rat race so far, I can only imagine what’s to come haha!
We spent Monday and Tuesday hitting up the pool and playing as much as we could. Hayden had a rough night at bedtime Tuesday knowing I wouldn’t be home with him the next day. Talk about hurting my mama heart! Motherhood is such a crazy ride. One minute I feel like pulling my hair out and the next I’m in tears thinking about having to leave them. We had such a FUN summer. I didn’t clean or stress over our messy house or have a schedule or a plan. If we wanted to go to the pool one day, we DID. If we wanted to stay home and run through the sprinkler, we DID. If we wanted to stay inside and build machine sheds for all the tractors with magnatiles, we DID. We did a lot of camping on the weekends and the boys just loved that too.
We had our fair share of struggles and time outs, but overall I am just so very thankful for a job that gives me the opportunity to have the best of both worlds. I never would have dreamed I’d have a job that allowed me to be home with my kids during the summers if I wasn’t a traditional teacher.
Although it was a bittersweet feeling heading back to work, I am so excited for this year and for Hayden to start school. And I can look forward to next summer when we get to do it all again!
